The Kingsley Learning Foundation Trust is looking for Directors / Trustees who, along with other Board members, will actively oversee the strategic direction of the Kingsley Learning Foundation Trust. The Kingsley Learning Foundation Trusts mission is: ‘Helping people living in extraordinary circumstances to live ordinary lives.’ We envision having a positive impact on the lives of our pupils, their families, and the community and we achieve this by keeping an open mind, celebrating all achievements, and persisting in all we do. We work tirelessly to create a better future for our young people and their families. As a hard working professional we know that you are really busy but we also know there are benefits of becoming a director such as board-level experience, influence on education policy, governance skills and networking opportunities. It will also allow you to make a positive social impact and help to improve education quality. You will have the opportunity to develop highly transferable skills in areas such as risk and financial management along with gaining insights into public sector operations. The role of a director / trustee is largely a thinking and questioning role; they are not charged with operational issues but are required to oversee the Trusts long term development. No specific prior knowledge is required and the trust seeks volunteers with a range of skills and backgrounds. Training and support are available for new and existing members and is free of charge.  We are looking for: - People who will bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role and who will broaden the experience and diversity of our board. - We would really welcome applications from professionals with experience in: HR, employment law, building and/or premises management, IT or technology, health or social care. - People who, by having a say in the education of some of the most disadvantaged in our community, have the potential to change the lives of children young people and their families. - People who want to work with other like-minded individuals who have a commitment to trying to improve the lives of others and to be of service to the wider society. Our Directors meet 4 times a year- each meeting is 1.5 to 2 hours long- a mixture of in-person and online. We also have committee meetings for some directors an additional 3 times a year. Outside of these meetings, there could be meetings for exceptional circumstances such as a panel where you could offer an independent view. The Kingsley Learning Foundation Trust currently consists of two special academies. One is a Primary school for children ages 4-11 and the other an all through school for pupil aged from 4 to 18. All our pupils have Education Heath and Care Plans and have a range of needs.
