About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Support the security of the school site, including locking and unlocking buildings and gates
- Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the premises
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness internally and externally, including grounds
- Assist with setting up and clearing spaces for school events and activities
- Monitor building systems such as heating, lighting and plumbing, reporting issues promptly
- Support grounds maintenance, including seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance and gritting
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a caretaking, site or maintenance role
- Practical skills in general maintenance and basic repairs
- Ability to use tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Physically able to undertake manual tasks associated with the role
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team
