SEN Teaching Assistant Apprentice

As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help pupils access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities - Support pupils with Special Educational Needs both individually and in small groups. - Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities. - Encourage pupils' social, emotional and academic development. - Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment. - Support children with communication, behavioural or learning needs. - Assist with preparing classroom resources and learning materials. - Contribute to the wider life of the school community. The successful candidate will: - Be passionate about supporting children and young people. - Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Be patient, caring, reliable and enthusiastic. - Be willing to learn and develop new skills through training and mentoring. - Be able to work effectively as part of a team. - Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. - Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, or be willing to work towards achieving these qualifications where required.
